St. Jude Thaddeus Medal -14K Gold-18MM
Round St. Jude Medal, with inscribed beveled borders, with shiny, flat back, made of 14K Yellow Gold. The size, in millimeters, is 18.00 MM. St. Jude, also called Thaddeus, was one of the twelve apostles and brother to St. James the Less; James and Jude were also (probably) cousins to Jesus, and both were authors of New Testament books. He is usually depicted wearing an image of Jesus on his chest, alluding to a miraculous cure that was given to a ruler who asked that a picture of Jesus be brought to him, and obliging, Jesus pressed his likeness onto a cloth, which Jude delivered. St. Jude traveled extensively with St. Simon after Pentecost, bringing the gospel to Mesopotamia, Libya, Turkey, and Persia. St. Jude is known as the saint of the impossible; many people who find themselves in desperate circumstances will ask St. Jude to intercede with God to obtain help with their problem. St. Jude is the patron saint of hospitals; his feast is celebrated on October 28th. © 2006
