Round St. Florian Pendant Medal-14K Gold-18.5MM

'St. Florian was commander of the Imperial Roman army in Bavaria, Germany. In the fourth century the emperor Diocletian began a fierce persecution of the Christians, sending Aquilinus to enforce worship of the Roman pagan gods. Florian refused, and was beaten and tortured with clubs, spikes and fire, then finally drowned with a stone around his neck in the river Enns, in what is now Austria. His feast is celebrated on May 4th, and he is the popular patron saint of firefighters. © 2006
St. Jude Framed Enamel Pendant - 10K Gold
Round St. Jude Medal -- hand painted porcelain -- with inscription on back, with frame and filligree border made of 10K yellow gold. The size, in millimeters, is 26.0. St. Jude, also called Thaddeus, was one of the twelve apostles and brother to St. James the Less; James and Jude were also (probably) cousins to Jesus, and both were authors of New Testament books. He is usually depicted wearing an image of Jesus on his chest, alluding to a miraculous cure that was given to a ruler who asked that a picture of Jesus be brought to him, and obliging, Jesus pressed his likeness onto a cloth, which Jude delivered. St. Jude traveled extensively with St. Simon after Pentecost, bringing the gospel to Mesopotamia, Libya, Turkey, and Persia. St. Jude is known as the saint of the impossible; many people who find themselves in desperate circumstances will ask St. Jude to intercede with God to obtain help with their problem. St. Jude is the patron saint of hospitals; his feast is celebrated on October 28th. © 2006 Click here to see our selection of chains: Chains This item will ship separately from our warehouse, if you have other items in your order they will arrive separately.
